A: Normally, a claim against a governmental agency must be lodged within six months of the injury. In some instances, the agency may allow the plaintiff to file a complaint but it is rare. Please consult with a lawyer near you to find out if you qualify for an exception. Best of luck.

A: You have 6 months from the date of the incident to file a Tort Claim with the County, then 6 months after the denial of the Tort Claim to file a lawsuit. In some circumstances, a late claim can be allowed, but you don't want to be in that position. Contact a Personal Injury Attorney for a consultation.
