Oviedo, FL asked in Real Estate Law for Florida

Q: I believe co mingling of closings and funds were done during a closing. My name is still on the property The title co

did not require me to sign the docs. I am 50% ownerwith the second investor who bought the contractand noone will return my calls. The Property Appraiser has even sent them a letter. I have been advise to stop trying to track them down. It is their problem. They cant flip or sale the home if I am 50% owner. I believe no one returns my calls because I sold to one investor who also owned the title co and assigned the contract to another investor and had both closings at the same time. What do I do, if they wont respond to me? What risk am I in. I was on the deed as a ladybird deed.

ANSWER:

The property appraisers office and attorneys who are not real estate attorneys. They said it isnt my problem it is theirs. I believe no one is responding because something was fishy about the whole thing. What statues of limitations?

A: This is too complicated to fully answer here. Who advised you " to stop trying to track them down", an attorney? that's fine, but in a few years one or more statutes of limitations may come into play.
