Marietta, OH asked in Car Accidents for Ohio

Q: I was in an accident 3 years ago, she hit me. I didn’t have ins, 3 years later my license are suspended bc of no ins thn

Originally her ins company was going to send an adjuster but when they found out I had had ins coverage at that exact moment they then turned it on me sued me w out me knowing and now I have to pay them. I was on medical leave from work and couldn’t pay the amount per month anymore and then lost my job so they went to the court to have my license suspended but also now I am being charged and have a suspension for not having insurance from 3 years ago even thought this had never came up or been a problem before. No officer came to the scene. It was in a parking lot she was speeding and hit me and admitted to it as well I had witnesses and pictures. I was never cited for anything. Her insurance company found out I had no insurance and everything changed and went after me a couple years later. I did have insurance but it lapsed bc I forgot to pay it but I paid it hat morning and my insurance company said they wouldn’t cover me bc I just paid it and it happened the same day.

A: If you were not at fault you may be able to reopen the case if you can show they never served you properly. If you were hurt contact a member of the Ohio Assn for Justice for the county where it happened.
