Q: Mom passed away a couple of weeks ago. I have POA.. Cant afford to pay $4000 to change the deed of land.

Are there any free lawyer or adviser that can help me get deed and sell land in PR i I’ve in Chicago and I am poor. I need assistance before my dad girlfriend takes it

Why you state that it will cost $ 4000 to change and liquidate the property is beyond me. The costs and expenses of changing the name in the property registry usually is relativly inexpensive. The power of attorney is void once the person whom issued it is deceased so this will not bear fact on the matter. What you need to do is to create your mothers estate and probate the estate. The creation of the estate should not cost more than $ 1,500.00 total. The probate of the estate normally runs around 15% of the value of the property in attorney fees.
