Q: Had a Police officer in Stillwater cite me for having the Lyft Amp on my dash last night. Is this correct?
The Lyft Amp is a bluetooth light that cycles pink and purple with the Lyft logo in front of the light. It aids in customers knowing that this vehicle is a Lyft car and on approach to the customer lights up in one of the following colors to indicate it is for them, Green, White, Orange or Yellow. An icon on the riders app shows the same color as the Amp so they can tell which one is theirs. Ticket cites city code, as "Sec. 29-243. - Equipment required." which seems to me to be an overly general code or ordinance that simply states that the vehicle must meet all codes and statutes.
