Altoona, PA asked in Traffic Tickets for Pennsylvania

Q: Speeding ticket summary appeal trial in PA for ticket with no posted speed limit sign?

I received a speeding ticket in PA for doing 67 in a 45 despite there being no posted speed limit sign (besides an advisory speed limit sign of 45mph around a bend). Two days before my hearing, a sign magically appeared in the area of the ticket. The officer told the judge that there has always been a sign there despite me having evidence of the new sign just being erected. The judge didn't care and found me guilty. I have a summary appeal trial next week to attempt to resolve this. What should I expect?

A: See if they won't knock the amount down. Go to the township see if there were work orders or payments to erect a sign AFTER your ticket. Not sure what you mean by "advisory"--that's a limit.

Note also all roads have a limit. What's the limit on the road before the sign you agree is there? It may be 5 miles back but your argument would be that's the limit if it's in your favor.
