Lancaster, PA asked in Divorce for Pennsylvania

Q: I never received a receipt or divorce signature from a constable I hire for $85. What can I do now?

A paralegal that is assisting me file a divorce told me that I can hire a constable to serve my husband while in prison. I called a constable and he told me to send an $85 money order with the paper for the defendant to sign. He said he would mail me a receipt back. I never received it through mail. He asked for me email address and I still haven't received anything from him. I'm concerned of being scammed. Please help. I don't know who to go to about this matter. He also told me to mail everything to him to an address that isn't in Lancaster county

A: No offense to the paralegal, but this is the sort of things that can happen when you don't hire the proper professional to do a proper job.

Why don't you just go see the constable in person to get a copy of the receipt?
