La Puente, CA asked in Civil Litigation, Personal Injury and Civil Rights for California

Q: What happens when i have no access to transportation to file a statement in a federal case and the judge dismissed it

My lawyer dropped my case the judge required me to make a statement but i couldnt make it to the court house which is more than 100 miles and 2 hours away. No public transportation in my area and no car no lincense.

The website for the judge said to contact his court room deputy.

The crd contract info stated she preferred email. I emailed her several times, this week she did not respond.

I tried registering on pacer to file documents electronicly went through the process and found the judge must approve prose persons to be able to file electronically.

I tried to call the court but the phone system is designed to prevent human contact.

Seems like this whole thing since my lawyer dropped me woth the time period falling on the 5th of September being my inital deadline to file a statement, and i got served the document on September 1st. I managed to get ahold of the crd on the 5th and got an extension on the 6th untill the 18th.

A: Oral or written? If written, you could have sent it via post, Fed Ex. etc. Or cpu;d have requested extension that way.
