Palm Desert, CA asked in Child Custody, Child Support, Divorce and Family Law for California

Q: What type of attorney could handle a case against Child Support Services?

Ive posted this question on a few sites and it seems no one knows the answer. DCSS in Riverside Co. has made a few mistakes. Ive inquired numerous times, only to be told there arent any mistakes. Ive sent in proof to them that was ignored. Ive kept all correspondence with them.

They entered wrong numbers, causing a $300 a month decrease in guideline standard. I get pushed away every time I try to speak to someone that will look beyond their computer screen, I get basically no where. This needs to be addressed, mistake was made mostly by DCSS attorney. Please someone reply so I can speak to an attorney that can tell me the DCSS can be held responsible for their mistakes or not.

A: The ideal way to address this would be:

1) Obtain a copy of the minute order from the hearing support was ordered.

2) Obtain a transcript from the hearing support was ordered.

3) Review both, and make sure what was marked on the minute order is what was ordered at the hearing.

4) If it is, then you'll file a motion to enforce support as ordered.

5) If it isn't, then you'll file a motion to correct the support order.

Good luck.
