Oakland, CA asked in Workers' Compensation for California

Q: Workman's Comp Deposition

I am being required to attend a second deposition on my WC claim. The accident was in Feb 2016 and I do not understand why the second meeting. There is a new attorney on the side of my company. I was fired in April this year, stating that they no longer need

a receptionist, with absolutely no warnings! A large dry erase board fell off the top of a 3' x 4' foot locker (without anything holding it down) and came down on top of me. Still awaiting surgery on my right shoulder rotary cup? Already had surgery on my right carpel tunnel and trigger finger middle right hand...

I hired an attorney from a well known Oakland Firm, in 2017, but they are horrible and have not helped me when I ask questions, they do not reply or even respond. I am so scared !

When I go to this deposition at the end of this month,,,, May I bring along a small recorder to record this unpleasant meeting?

Thank you for your help.

A: if you must ask questions here instead of the firm you will be paying thousands, you need new counsel. There are wonderful firms in the bay area. You need a lawyer that answers your questions. YOU MAY 'dismiss' this attorney who won't speak with you and hire a new attorney. You will still pay the same 15% of the final award in attorneys fees. You need to do this before the next deposition.
