Q: I live in Texas, my GF and I just broke up and I need to get her name off the deed to my house.
We were never married, she originally agreed to sign a quit-claim deed if I agreed that if I ever were to sell the house she would get the first opportunity to buy it. I don't believe she'll honor that agreement. She has already moved out. I'll probably need a lawyer but I don't know what kind, family or real estate.
A: If you and your girlfriend bought the house together then you are both owners and each cannot just remove the other's name.
