Chicago, IL asked in Criminal Law and Federal Crimes for Ohio

Q: Criminal law. I’m in need if someone

A incident happened 2 months ago where 2 girls tried to jump me at a gas station, they were kicking my car and busted my side mirror. I backed up and there were like 5 other people surrounding my car, so I came forward and one of the girls got hit as I was turning and she got back Up and went to my sisters car to try and fight her. I finally got away in my car but the cars mom chased me for about 5-10 mins. I couldn’t go to the police station that night, when I went home i went to my neighbors and cars were just showing up at my house so I didn’t go home til like 1 am that night. I have a clean record. The court is holding 180 days of jail over my head. I want to know if there is any way to avoid jail time now that I am in college and have a full time job?

A: It really depends upon where you are, who the judge is, and which version of events the evidence supports. You should, of course, hire an attorney.
