Plano, TX asked in Domestic Violence and Family Law for Texas

Q: I have a friend who was a victim of domestic violence. She is being bullied by a court appointed counselor to face her

Abuser in attempt to reunify her son and his father (the abuser). The counselor scheduled a meeting with the victim and the abuser in the same room. She was terrified. I went as support. The counselor did NOTHING to protect my friend during the meeting. From an outsiders viewpoint, he was classic abuser...raised his voice to intimidate, made things out to be be her fault, leaned his chair forward in two legs to show dominance. The counselor did nothing. This man was found guilty of injury to a child (her other son who laid across her to protect her )and assault (pictures tell the story)...he received 10 years felony probation. She went to the meeting out of fear of not doing what the judge said. Her son that they are trying to reunify is terrified of him. He remembers what happened.

Her good ole boy attorney is doing nothing...I paid him 6k up front.

What are her options?
