New Orleans, LA asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Louisiana

Q: Is it against the law to contact a hearing officer and let him know his recommendations were made on false info?

Or should I say twisted in his own way to see fit?

Both parties and attorney were present. He gave a choice, do this or go to jail. What he made his recommendations on was on a false statement he made not even mentioning what was important.

A: A hearing officer cannot talk to one party without the other party and their counsel present. If you disagree with the HO's recommendation, your remedy is to file an objection and have the case heard by the judge. Hire an attorney immediately if you haven't already.
