Q: If the main lessor didn’t sign an additional year addendum on a lease, is it valid?
I live in an apartment that my father is the lessor. It is a one year lease. It has an addendum for an additional year with approval from the board. However, the addendum is only signed my the landlord and myself, not my father. My circumstances have changed and I do not want another 12 month lease. How do I proceed?
A: Write a letter to the landlord saying you are leaving at the end of the term, and the addendum is not valid.
