Lexington, KY asked in Criminal Law for Kentucky

Q: I purchased a car from a guy and it’s not what he promised it to be.

I purchased a vehicle from a guy , I first decided not to but he promised that all it needed was an alignment after I came home I took it in to 2 different well known certified alignment shops and they said it couldn’t be aligned the frame was bent. I contacted the guy I bought it from and he finally agreed to trade it back in on another vehicle from him. He told me I had to get the car title in my name before he could take it back . Is that true or Is he just trying to officially make it mine so I’m stuck with it? Not sure that it matters but I’ve got several text from him stating how good of a vehicle it was and how the bumper was the only thing wrong with it and he was fixing it .

A: He’s trying to officially make it yours and screw you. If it’s not in your name, don’t put it there. You’ll probably have to sue him to get your money back.
