A: Grandparents do not have any automatic rights to see their grandchildren if their children refuse. There is a high standard to try to force rights in court. The best option is to try to repair your relationship with your child, because court intervention may not be successful and may make things worse.

A: Has your son taken steps to legitimize the child? If not, then he doesn't even have rights to the child. The mother has the right to deny you both visitation at this point. Your son may want to take steps to legitimate the child, which would give him legal rights to her, and he can then seek visitation rights. -Homer P. Jordan IV, Esq. 404-620-1558 HomerJordan.com
