Sacramento, CA asked in Car Accidents for California

Q: If I accidentally hit a parked car, but didn’t see any damage, do I still need to contact the car owner?

I accidentally backed into the bumper of a car behind me while exiting a parking space. I looked at my car as well as the other car and saw no damage. I didn’t have anything to write my information on, and when I went back to the parking lot to give my info, the car was gone. Will I be charged with a hit and run even though there was no damage and I tried to find the owner?

A: more facts needed..............but if you are contacted by police remain silent and say you want to talk to your lawyer for permission to talk to the police.

technically you do not know what the damage might be to the undercarriage etc
