Irvine, CA asked in Criminal Law and Traffic Tickets for California

Q: CPA license criminal conviction disclosure form

I am applying for my CPA license in CA, and when looking at the criminal conviction disclosure form, I'm not sure whether to disclose the speeding ticket i got about 7-8 years ago. I believe it was treated as a misdemeanor, and I had my license suspended for 1 month. The form says to disclose all felonies and misdemeanors, but to exclude minor traffic violations. Any help would be appreciated!

A: more info needed.

speeding tix are usually infractions.......unless you are going so fast ie 100mph or so...............then it could be a speed contest or reckless driving.

1-month suspension would be unusual for a simple traffic tix.

this is important enough that i would hire a lawyer in your area could look into it and maybe get the matter removed............maybe remove your plea and have the judge dismiss.
