Q: if my husband dies without a will can his daughter come in and take stuff out of my house that was there before.
I married a man that lost his spouse to death. They had 3 adult children that had their own homes. I moved in his home. We refinanced the home in both our names. There is a lot of items in the home like quilts, china, furniture and home decorations that was there when I moved in. The daughter continues to embarrass me telling everyone that those things are her mothers. If my husband dies without a will can she come in and take those items from me?
A: I suggest your husband have a will prepared that gives specific items to specific people if that is how he wants them to pass.
