A: Yes, you can absolutely marry. However, in order to avoid possible future immigration issues, it is imperative that you comply with the terms of the M1 visa and leave at the end of your 5 week authorized stay. As soon as you are married, your spouse can file an I-130 petition on your behalf. Once that is approved, you will file immigrant visa applications, attend an interview at the U.S. embassy or consulate in your country and, if approved, re-enter the U.S. using an immigrant visa. When you return with the immigrant visa, you will be a permanent resident. It is not a quick process (probably 1 1/2 years or so) but it is the legally correct process.
