Shreveport, LA asked in Child Custody for Louisiana

Q: Custody and lawyer

I have filed for joint custody of my daughter. The child's mother has told my mother that her lawyer told her to keep my daughter away from my family and that is the reason to why she has my family blocked from contacting my daughter. Would a lawyer tell someone that? shouldn't I have gotten served with papers before her? My daughter confiding in me the last time I saw her. My child support worker had me to contact cps. She is stating she got a lawyer at that time that was 2 months ago. I filed January 10, 2019 and she got served the next day. So if she has a lawyer shouldn't have already served me vs me serving her?
