Philadelphia, PA asked in Traffic Tickets for Pennsylvania

Q: Is it a misdemeanor to receive three citations (speeding ticket, reckless driving, driving with expired license plate)?

I paid all three citations the next day, but for some reason I received a letter (that I found a month later) that they never received the payment for one of the citations. There is now a warrant for my arrest, and my license is suspended. Is this a criminal offense or a summary offense? I have proof that I paid it but I'm worried that this is on my record forever.

A: Ugh, that's a hassle. You'll need to go into court in person to straighten things out, and bring proof that you paid all citations.

If the citation that they *didn't* receive payment for is the reckless driving citation, however, you may have caught a lucky break. All citations are summary offenses, but reckless driving also carries with it a six-month suspension of your driver's license. If that citation is marked as unpaid, try to get it knocked down to at least careless driving which does *not* come with a license suspension.

Best of luck to you.
