Q: I am pregnant, I’m 15 and my baby daddy is 18. Can we get married with court consent? Everything I read said you can.

The only way he could be involved with the baby is by us getting married. We want this, but us asking my parents can cause a lot of stress and a lot of problems that don’t need to be started. Everything I read said that with court consent we could get married. Is that correct? I really need help.

A: The court is unlikely to grant consent. But you can try.

A: I would be very cautious about approaching a court with this. After all, it sounds like he broke the law. The age of consent is 16. If he was 18 when you had sex and you were 15, he committed a crime called unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
