Idaho Falls, ID asked in Contracts for Idaho

Q: Gayron Zaugg caused his company to double bill me and pocket the money. He is refusing to answer my phone calls.

On May of 2017 I signed a contract that Geyron Zaugg with "Live Security" presented me. The contract was with Safe Home Security "SHS" for 36 months. On June of 2018 Geyron Zaugg transferred my account, without my knowledge or agreement, from SHS to Alder Security. At this time I began getting billed from SHS and Alder security simultaneously. When i confronted Geyron about this issue he told me SHS had made a mistake and I needed to contact them. I did so and they told me Geyron was responsible for refunding me for the double billing me. At this time Geyron Zaugg has purposely ignored my every attempt to contact him for a resolution. I have contacted Alder security and they told me this issue was between myself and Geyron Zaugg. What steps do i need to take in order to resolve this issue and get reimbursed? Is Geyron legally allowed to transfer signed contracts form one company to another with my agreement?

A: "Secondary paper" is bought and sold all the time, so yes, its legal for a business to sell whatever accounts they have collect on or sell to "bundle" or sell separately. However, upon googling "Geyron Zaugg," there doesn't seem to be any information on him. From your question I gathered that Mr. Zauugg worked for SHS? If so, then SHS is absolutely liable for any double billing and assuming you caught the mistake before you actually sent double payments, then I don't think you have any recourse at this point. If you paid double payments then do your own accounting and simply subtract the double payment from the balance you owe. Why can't you do this? Alder Security is a real company with an address in Utah. Live Security is a real business with an address in Idaho, so it doesn't appear to me that they are trying to scam you. It appears that SHS may have neglected to quit billing you once they transferred their account. Your contract is not fulfilled until May of 2020, so have you continued to pay monthly? If you don't then you will be at fault and liable. Nothing you have said here gives you the right to back out of your contract or quit paying.
