Norfolk, VA asked in Landlord - Tenant for Virginia

Q: What can a landlord sue you for after 4 years? We went to court in 2015 for rent and dmg. He won with some reduced.

I am being sued by a landlord from 2015. I am not sure why because we have already been to court back in 2015 for owed rent and damages I believe . He did win a judgment. But some of it was taking off due to issues we had like not being able to use all rooms but one for 3 weeks because of an electrical fire in the wall .And we had a whole in the kitchen floor for eight month due to the floor being rotted. We did not get evicted. We moved out, but did receive a 5 day notice. I received a letter that we owe an additional balance. And I am not sure why or how? I read that you only get one change and could not be sued again if the case was dismissed with prejudice. But I am unsure in my situation since it was trailed and what rules apply . It has been over 4 years and I can not even remember a lot from that time. I am wondering would this fit my case. And if not, what could I be getting sued over.

A: If everything prior was already settled and litigated it's hard to see how they have recourse as long as you paid it at the time.
