A: If you co-sign a loan, you’re in the hook for the loan, not any accidents he may get into with the car he buys with the loan proceeds. If the car is titled to you, you need to make sure there is insurance on the car. If it’s titled to him, that’s his problem. If you are driving the car when an accident occurs, you’ll be on the hook for that one.

A: Mr. Williams is correct. If your name is on the title or registration, you also want to make sure that car is somehow referenced on your policy. What you want to avoid is your name on registration, you rely on son to keep up insurance, son doesn't or it gets canceled, crash with an uninsured vehicle, then bad things happen.Talk to your insurance agent.
