Q: Can you sew a home seller if you find it had unpermitted small addition added and layout changes since c of o drawings?
Architect drawings from the 70s. C of O from 80s. Bought the house a few months ago and now have violations. Found out small foyer extension is not supposed to be there. Addition Has to be 25 years old or more. Can I sue the seller for the cost of removing or bringing up to code (which may be rather expensive).
A: If you closed already, no. Your title company should have found these issues, and if critical to you, your lawyer should not have closed.
