A: The cost of the fine depends on which court it's in and how bad your driving record is. If you want to plead guilty and pay the fine, you have to go to court and plead guilty to the judge, who will assess the amount of the fine, and points will be added to your driving record (and your car insurance rates may increase). Or you can hire an attorney to get y our speeding ticket amended to a non-moving, no-point violation. You will pay a slightly higher fine plus court costs, but you won't have to appear in court. Again, the amount of the fine & court costs (and the amount the attorney charges) vary depending on which court your case is being prosecuted in.
