Wake Forest, NC asked in Traffic Tickets for North Carolina

Q: Can an officer lie about where they pulled you over?

I got a ticket for going "55" in a 35 while it was raining. I never drove that back road and I admit I honestly thought it was 45 because the car ahead of me had to be doing 60 because at 53 I couldn't keep up. I was speeding so I don't contest that but when reviewing the ticket the officer said I was miles away from where we actually were. He pulled me right before the county line (edit he pulled me on the exact street that divides the county) but put he pulled me about 5 miles down the road. He wasn't even parked near where he put we were and he followed me a very short distance down the road then once we were out the curve he turned on his lights. Is there no way to prove he made up where we were on the ticket(like the camera on his car when he pulled me) or does that not even matter? Sorry first ever ticket so I'm looking at my options and if this is something to discuss with the lawyer or not.

A: You lost your argument at "I was speeding" - everything else is irrelevant. Just hire a local traffic attorney. If at least your address is correct on your ticket, you will likely get a crap ton of letters from traffic attorneys. You don't need F. Lee Bailey for speeding 55 in a 35 so just pick the cheapest one and roll with that. Oh, and stop speeding and if you do speed, don't get caught and if you get caught, hire a traffic attorney instead of making a bunch of lame excuses.
