Youngsville, LA asked in Contracts for Louisiana

Q: Is there a period of time regarding when I can cancel a signed contract for future treatments with an acupuncture Dr.?

Yesterday my wife & I both had a treatment session with this doctor who made us sign his paperwork which stated in his ad that there would be no charge if he did not get at least 50% relief during the first visit or he would not take one on as his patient. During both of our treatments, he kept leaving the room after instering many needles in us & then being later call back in by his nurse asking again & again if we still had pain & how much. He did this repeatedly each time being more forcible, more vocal & seemingly more demanding until finally we just gave up. I paid him $300 for his sessions but I want to cancel the remaining portion of the contract for future treatment sessions . Can I cancel the contract and how to do so? Also, at no time was I offered copies of what I signed. Also required by him was for each of us before we left to make an appointment for our next visit. We didn't do so because I am soon scheduled for treatment for my heart valves.

A: You are probably not going to get any answer here because lawyers must have a chance to read the written documents comprising the contract for future visits before advising you. Contact a local lawyer.

A: It's possible the contract itself could contain provisions as to such time periods.
