Q: Can I make a claim against the ELA sheriff's department for harassment and civil rights violations?
On April 7th 2019 my husband my sister and I were sitting in front of her house when I saw an la sheriff department police vehicle enter my sisters trailer park. Then approximately 5 minutes exit and proceeded to drive towards us. Where I was cleaning the car I was wiping front windshield when the female officer pulled up and asked us "did you hear anybody screaming." I said "no" then my husband said "maybe the kids going up and down the street." The female sheriff then asked my husband "are you on probation or parole?" He said "no" then the female sheriff said "let me see your ID!" And my husband respond "by law i don't have to show you my id." She aggressively got out her her and took my husband out the car and called mandatory backup. Detained him in handcuffs in the back of the vehicle. Illegally searched the car found nothing I was having an anxiety attack they wouldn't allow me to get my pills. And gave me two tickets one for littering another for washing the windows.
