Q: Why can someone be charged with murder twice, if the victim was under 12 years old, and the Defendant was trusted?

Hello, currently researching for a school project.

I'll be talking about the Chris Watts case, where the charges for his two kids, included him charged with murder twice, for each of them.

example: "Murder of a child who has not yet reached the age of 12 and the defendant was in a position of trust: Bella Watts"

Where do I find information about why and in accordance with what he was charged twice with murder for each?
