Asked in Business Law and Contracts

Q: I need someone to register my company name in Italy. How can I find someone to do it for free or to be paid later.

Once I get a company registered in Italy, I will go to my distributor and he will give me letter of intent to distribute my film and 100,000 Euro guarantee. Then I can pay lawyer. Can anyone help?

A: As you just found out, "registering" your company name in Italy is not as easy as non-lawyers think it should be.

IMPO, you will be hard-pressed to find any experienced US lawyer who practices International Law willing to "do it for free" or willing to take a chance on your business ever getting the "letter of intent to distribute your film and 100,000 guarantee" from your contacts in Italy. In fact, this grand plan has the strong smell of an international scam; so rather than searching for free legal assistance, I recommend hiring a lawyer to do a deep background on all of the people you are trying to do business with--before you get taken for a ride.
