Soddy Daisy, TN asked in Family Law for Tennessee

Q: My husband just discovered he is not the father of his 9 year old through a private DNA lab test resulting 0%

He has believed he was the father and signed the birth certificate. His relationship with the child's mother was a on again off again relationship and they also had another child 2 years prior. The first child is 99.9% probabibility his. Father is now married and has a child with me. The mother of the two children has continuously held the children over his head and has threatened his me multiple times, tried to fight me, stalked us. I had to have an order of protection to protect myself and my daughter. She lives right down the road and has come to my home multiple times to argue and has resulted in her flicking me off and yelling obscenities at me from the road in her car. It's unreal that this is the reality of our lives. It has gotten so bad that even the youngest child has threatened me and our family by writing threats on the bathroom wall and threatened to kill us in our sleep. She has told him the name of alleged father and he is past friend of my husband's. Children are 9 & 11

A: From this description of the facts, it sounds like your biggest problem currently is safety as this woman is threatening you and your family. If you are scared for your safety or your families the first step is to call the police and report the threats and/or file for an order of protection. If an Order of Protection is already in place, then her actions may violate that order and you may report any suspected violations of the Order to the police. You may want to consider consulting with an attorney to discuss this case in further detail. Good luck!
