Kissimmee, FL asked in Foreclosure for Florida

Q: I am being sued in a foreclosure. The homeowner is dead, she put me on her home as a beneficiary along with her 4 sons.

I am 65 years old. The deceased homeowner is my 30 years old daughter grandmother. I was never married to her son and was not aware that she had included me on her home information. I do not live in the home and has never lived in the home. She has 4 sons that are included in the lawsuit, two sons are still living in the home. The home is a reverse mortgage property the is in foreclosure. I received a letter prior to the lawsuit package regarding a court date, I did not show up. I received the lawsuit package 6 days ago. I have to respond within 20 days of receiving the package. I don't know what to do, again I am 65 years old and still working to support my self. The decease was of no relations to me. I was never aware of being attached in any way to her home prior to receiving a letter from lawyers. Please advise me as to how I can get out of this lawsuit.

A: It appears that if you fail to respond you will be defaulted and the foreclosure will move forward without you. You have been included because you might claim some interest in the property. If you are not interested in claiming an interest, you needn't do anything.
