Maineville, OH asked in Traffic Tickets for Ohio

Q: Court Costs if I plead no guilty?

If I plead not guilty for a seat belt ticket and go to trial about it, will it cost me more if I lost than if I waive it and paid? In other words, are the 'court costs' they charge if you plead guilty and pay the same as if you pleaded not guilty and lost? In Butler Cty court. If it would cost more, can someone tell me what the costs would be and for how much? Wife was with me, officer acted unsure, bargained with me on roadside, he wrote me a ticket standing there seeing we both had our belts on. He 'thought' he didn't see me with mine on when we passed, but my olive drab army t shirt is almost same color as my taupe seat belts. Our word against his eyesight at 65 mph and he also acknowledged we had them on when he was at window. He stopped me for no front plate, but only warned me about that. If court would waive all court costs and only charge me $30, I'd accept it and pay that. I'm retired living on fixed income.
