Ferndale, CA asked in Divorce and Family Law for California

Q: Enforce alimony, get attorney, attend court. How do that since I moved to other side of state (Calif)?

My ex (employed executive) paid alimony for some years then stopped. So, had enforced through court, yet he's still not paying. Due to this, I'm seeking to (again) enforce spousal support agreement. Kids all adults, so no child support applies.

Was married and divorced in same county in California. Married 20+ years. I still reside in California, yet moved several hours away to different county. What, if any, laws/rules are there regarding this? Ok to hire attorney in my county, which is different from county where divorced. Will I need to attend court in same county that divorced in? I had to pay my legal fees in first enforcement, will ex be required to pay my legal fees since (again) will need retain attorney
