Can I sue the man who my mom had an affair with?

My mom started seeing a married man when I was 9 years old and continued to see him until I was 22 years old mind you he is a very wealthy man who provided everything for our family food rent vehicles he was the sole provider when they split up I feel it caused me emotional and mental issues and being a man of his stature and respect from the community I don't see how such a huge part of my life never happened like we don't exist him not caring or taking into consideration the damage it was going to do to me in the long run and after being afected by the affair as a child has a lot to do with my mental stability later on in life?

A: More info needed.

one can always sue anyone at anytime for anything. The issue is whether you will win.

i think a jury would have a hard time having sympathy for you. Many jurors would probably say you should be thankful that he supported your family for so many years. They would ask what your life would have been like without him.

this may be a question for a family law attorney. Did he ever promise to support her or give her money?

A: I don't see it --there has to be a duty and there is no duty giving rise to suit to stay in a relationship; also, there is a statute of limitations issue.
