Whether you have the authority to fire this person is something that no one here can know without a lot more information. Her employer, or an authorized representative of her employer has that power. More would therefore need to be known about the form of the business, your and your husband's role in the business and other facts to make that determination.
You use the word conflict. Certainly in your mind there is a conflict, but not in the traditional sense of a conflict of interest.
This sounds like an issue you need to resolve with your husband.
