Hardy, KY asked in Child Custody and Family Law for Kentucky

Q: How can my sons aunt sign custody back? She had temporary custody

My sons aunt had temporary custody. She now wants to sign back over custody. She lives in ohio I live in Kentucky. He has been living with me since may 23 2019 .From my understanding once he is with me for 6 months I can file for full custody in the county we live in .But she is willing to sign him back over without having to do this. I called the attorney I had in ohio that went to court on this case when she wanted to adopt him it was threw out . He has yet to call me back , I offered to pay him for the necessary paperwork with no luck . His aunt has had no contact with him . Is there anything I can do without costing me a bunch of more money in legal fees.

A: You can file an agreed order returning custody to you in the court in which temporary custody was granted to her.
