Lake Charles, LA asked in Probate for Texas

Q: Saving $$ for attorney. What are my rights as the sole beneficiary? What are the sons rights who was left nothing?

I'm Saving $$ for attorney. What are my rights as the sole beneficiary? What are the sons rights who was left nothing?

My friend left every thing to me in his will. I am in the process of getting the money together to pay the probate attorney. The testators son is aware of the will but chooses to do whatever he wants. Him and a friend came onto the property, then proceeded to take tools, equipment , personal items, electronics and other misc items. I have both of them on the security cameras accepting money and loading stuff into someone else's truck  Does he have a right to take anything from here? Can he go inside my house when I'm not there?

A: The executor (not the sole beneficiary, not a relative) has a duty to secure the property.
