Q: I got a summons for MO Registration of Child Custody Determination. I need to know what this means and how to respond??
I live in Owensboro, KY and my child’s father lives in Columbia, MO. He has primary residence but we have joint custody. Our original case is in Urbana, IL, but I just received this summons so I think he is trying to move the case there. I’m not sure what my options are or how to respond because I don’t know exactly what this summons means.
A: He is trying to move the case to MO and have it heard there. If the child resides in MO, that is likely where it will wind up.
