Chicago, IL asked in Criminal Law for Illinois

Q: I was arrested for POSS AMT CON SUB EXCEPT A D

I'm being charged with a class 4 felony however I am prescribed this medication monthly it just so happens that My original prescription fell in the sink full of water and I needed to get 4 days worth so I asked a friend and she gave me 4 I put it in her prescription bottle, not smart I know. I got pulled over because PO said they smelled marijuana and that gave them the right to search. I was brought to jail they did not find marijuana, I was not driving my car a friend was but they towed and impounded it. No THC was found. They said they had probable cause to search but they did find the pills in my purse. I was bonded out I have to appear back in court on Friday. I will have my new prescription filled in the bottle with my name on it. Do I have any recourse? I know I was wrong getting them from my friend but I needed the prescription because mine melted when the bottle fell in sink. Secondly did they have a right to tow my car under section 36-1 of crim. code, A friend was driving.
