A: This is something that an Illinois attorney would be best suited to advise you on, but your question remains open for three weeks. There is not really a step-by-step instruction for this situation, based on the brief facts at hand. It sounds like it could turn out to be a complex case because between the motor vehicle and homeowner's insurances, it may turn out to be a contentious matter to determine liability, and what you describe as a runaround could be the unwillingness of any one side to concede liability. You could consult with an Illinois attorney - for these types of situations, many give free initial consultations and would be able to advise in a more meaningful manner than what is possible in the brief format of this question-answer board. Good luck
