A: On a basic level, for the purposes of pursuing their bill, the hospital's actions would primarily fall under the billing and collection laws of Washington State. But you must also look at the language found on the hospital's bills, hospital admission or assignment of benefit forms, insurance claim forms, insurance denials, and the basic insurance policy. It's possible those things could contain provisions that govern how any disputes would be adjudicated - by litigation, by arbitration, which jurisdiction, etc. And if the matter was referred to a collection firm, it's possible that could add new elements. Good luck
