Couple hours later, he was hospitalized for carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and ammonia poisoning. Can he sue for negligence?

A: It's might be difficult to make a judgment on negligence here because you're looking at one person's perception of another's vision, where the supervisor could say they were not aware of the level of vision impairment following exposure. What might be a more fundamental issue here is that your fiancé was hospitalized as a result of exposure to ammonia that took place during the course of employment. Depending on the severity of the incident and his symptoms, he might want to consult with a workers' compensation attorney. Since many attorneys offer free consultations, he has nothing to lose. You could also repost your question in the Workers' Comp category - the workers' comp attorneys who participate on this site often provide very generous and meaningful input in situations involving workplace injury. Good luck
