Park City, KY asked in Civil Litigation for Kentucky

Q: I brought a stuck of receipts to the the small claims court but the case was dismissed without requesting me any receipt

The judge wrote, "She was unable to meet the burden of proof." The judge said I can appeal. Rule says I cannot produce new evidence. Can I use the receipts I brought there but never had a chance, if I appeal? Also, I was a Plaintiff. Rule says only defendant can appeal. Was the judge joking?

A: No. Either side can appeal. You can argue that the receipts should have been introduced in the trial as part of your request for reversal.
