Columbus, OH asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Ohio

Q: I have a very complicated situation. I haven't seen my 14 month old daughter in 5 months. Can I get her back soon?

My 14 month old daughter's father and I are no longer together. We were never married. May 5, her father was charged with domestic violence and assault against me. He is pending trial. Immediately after he kicked my daughter and I out of our home. During this time, I relapsed (recovering alcoholic). The end of May I was charged with endangering children as I thought my ex took my child when I had inadvertently left her in the car (she's fine, no lasting injuries). I called the police to report what i thought was a kidnapping of my child. I was charged with a felony, her father was awarded temporary custody, and am awaiting sentencing in December. My daughter's father has a felony on his record from 6 years ago for OVI/Endangerment, and also is awaiting trial for the DV. I have since completed treatment,Sober 5 mos,am on medication for post pardum and PTSD, go to thereapy and aftercare weekly, have had mental health assesments, parenting courses etc. He has done nothing and still has her
