Asked in Civil Rights for Kentucky

Q: Insurance came out of my account for a car I don’t drive and he won’t give me the money! What can I do?

It is in my ex’s name, I know he has the right to take it being in his name. We made an agreement when we broke up I could keep the car as long as I kept everything paid. Well he got a new girlfriend and she told me “I’m gonna go tf off on him untill he takes that piece of **** car.” Well he did that night which was Friday 10/11/19. I was gonna take him to court for the money I invested into the car but figured it’s be a big mess so I let it go. Well today 10/15/19 an insurance payment came out of my account and I’m not longer on the policy nor drive the car. He won’t give me the money back what do I do?? Will it help to go to court??

A: Cancel the insurance immediately unless you’re on the title too. You should go back to divorce court to enforce your agreement.
